Whitecaps Regatta
Description
The Whitecaps Regatta at the Union Valley Reservoir was an MHRA points event hosted by Hobie Division III/Fleet 17 from 1999 to 2004. It appears that we'll once again be allowed to come and play in 2008. Union Valley is located between Placerville and South Lake Tahoe, near the start of the Rubicon Trail. Put in at the Peninsula launch ramp, near the Sunset campground. You can make reservations at one of the several Forest Service campgrounds on the lake, however Mark Wentzel usually allows sailors to camp on his family's property nearby.
